As we enter this new year I look back at the prior one and can't help but notice that, at least in my area, Pearl Harbor Day came and went with very little notice. Has it passed so far into history that it is fading?
Each year I try to host a scale model group build dedicated to the attack. This year that build is on 3 scale model forums. The League of Extraordinary Modelers, Model Builders International, and Finescale Forums. There is also a Pearl Harbor build on US Aircraft forums. Unlike with the earlier renditions of Pearl Harbor Models I will not "host" the build here but I will be posting my progress within the forums here.
The builds that I am hosting begin July 26, this was the date in 1941 the US began the embargo of war materiel and oil. This embargo was the reason given by Japan for the invasions of the oil producing areas in Asia and was also the "provocation" they cited for the war.
For more information check out the different forums and I encourage you to join in.
